NO LOVE FOR LEBRON

Love for everyone, just not LeBron

Quote of the Day

Joakim Noah on beating the Heat to sweep the season series on Sunday afternoon;

“It feels great. I was pretty amazed how, just walking on South Beach [Saturday], how many people were just like, ‘Beat the Heat, Beat the Heat’ in their own hometown. I know in Chicago, I don’t think that happens like that, so it felt pretty good.”

Noah doesn’t exactly blend in when he walks down the street and especially on the beach, which coincidentally, he has stated that if he wasn’t playing basketball he would be selling coconuts and other fruits on the beach. He did bring Florida a couple of National Championships while attending college so he’s recognizable to say the least.

However, I have no doubt that people were telling him to “beat the Heat.” Florida fans just don’t care about professional sports or are transplants from cold weather climates like New York or Chicago. That became evident when Derrick Rose heard MVP chants in the Heat’s home arena. And let’s not even talk about the amount of empty seats at that arena for even the biggest of regular season games.

5 reasons not to take the Heat seriously

The Miami Heat drop their 4th in a row to a quality opponent

I haven’t taken the Heat (43-20) seriously since LeBron James took his talents to South Beach back in July. Since then, many of the league’s best teams have also taken their talents all the way to South Beach and left with smiles on their collective faces. The Heat have lost 8 games at home against playoff teams like Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Orlando (twice) and 8th seed Indiana. Check back for an update after this tough stretch run ends for the Heat.

But many less intelligent basketball fans and analysts have consistently picked them to win it all this year. And time after time, the Heat have shown us all signs of why we shouldn’t praise them. Sure, they’re as dangerous as anyone come playoff time, but let’s use our heads before we exaggerate their worth too much. For those of you still on the fence, here are just 5 reasons to take them less seriously.

1. Opponent (W/L) – San Antonio Spurs (51-11)
Head to Head – 0-1
Games Remaining – 1 Home

2. Opponent (W/L) – Dallas Mavericks (45-16)
Head to Head – 0-2
Games Remaining – None

3. Opponent (W/L) – Chicago Bulls (43-18)
Head to Head – 0-3
Games Remaining – None

4. Opponent (W/L) – Boston Celtics (45-15)
Head to Head – 0-3
Games Remaining – None

5. LeBron James

Numbers Lie

A Logical Look at the MVP Race

In today’s sports world, numbers are used quite frequently in debates over everything from the best team to the best player. The way I see it, the same numbers often prove and disprove the same arguments.

Lately, you’ve been hearing about the Derrick Rose vs. LeBron James MVP debate. People reference James’ numbers and point to him as the clear favorite. I reference the fact that he has Dwayne Wade on his team, thus disqualifying both of them from debate altogether. They can’t both be top 5 or 10 MVP candidates. That’s just not logical.

Power Ranking Flub: Heat Over Lakers

ESPN are idiots

Hollinger Blows

Okay, not everyone over at ESPN are idiots, but sometimes I wonder if they are even watching the same NBA season as we are. John Hollinger posted his Power Rankings this week, and at 5-3 he has the Miami Heat over the defending, and undefeated 2 time NBA champion LA Lakers. As Jeff stated, ‘only 12 year olds listen to Hollinger’ and that is just sad. He states his formula is built on some grand mathmatical formula but there is only one thing that matters mathmatically in the NBA. Wins. PERIOD. The Heat have three losses already, 10 teams have a better win/loss percentage right now.

ESPN, get off their nuts already. The team is obviously a talented team, and I get everyone thinks they are some supergroup, but the Heat aren’t even the best team in the East, let alone the entire league. They have proven nothing to this point, but mosey on over to ESPN and they have a HEAT INDEX section on the MAIN PAGE of their NBA coverage. I don’t see a LAKE SHOW link. They didn’t have a BULLS RUN link when the Bulls were, oh I dunno, doing something 6 times in an 8 year period that shows greatness, unlike ANYTHING LeBron has done to this point.

Dear Media. Grow a pair. Seriously.

The Story of the Big Geriatric and Prince James

It’s been a long time since we posted anything here and that’s just not acceptable. I was reading over some old posts when I realized that not a whole lot has changed in LeBron’s game and it was time to start writing again. The whole idea behind this website was to expose LeBron for what he was, a young, raw developing talent…not the new face of the league. That burden has, thankfully, been returned to its rightful place – Kobe Bryant’s shoulders. But, with the “Big 3spiracy” forming down in Miami, its likely that ESPN will continue to tout James as the best person to ever do anything.
