Mo WilliamsJames to Williams doesn’t really have the same ring to it and hasn’t had anywhere close to the same impact as the great Stockton to Malone combo. But, Mo Williams has really proven to be a worthwhile off-season addition to the Cavs as he and LeBron connected 10 times on the night. Last night he put up 43 points on 15-24 shooting, 7-12 behind the arc and a perfect 6-6 at the line. Oh, and let’s not forget to mention the 8 rebounds that go along with his 11 assists too. Granted, LeBron had a triple-double but Williams was the guy who got it done against the Sacramento Kings last night. It’s no wonder the Cavs were searching for a second scoring option. If Mo Williams can put up those type of numbers then LeBron can be a natural small forward and not be looked to as a primary scorer. If Cleveland takes anything away from games like this I hope it’s that LeBron doesn’t need to try to take over and hog the ball on every possession.

But, this blog is about why LeBron isn’t the King of the NBA, not about how the Cavs are overrated. Their record speaks for itself.

LeBron shot 50% from the field and got to the line 15 times. He added 11 assists and 15 boards to go with his 23 points on the night. It’s hard to rip on a guy who can put up those kinds of numbers but we aren’t saying he’s not a good basketball player. We’re saying that he’s not who ESPN and the likes have crowned the king. It’s easy to see on a night like last night when Mo Williams puts everything in perspective.

Cavs win 117-110

I wish Scott was here to do a ring check…I’ll give it a try.
Horry=7 rings. Magic=5 rings. Steve Kerr=5 rings. LeBron=’did Horry retire yet?’
